A UTAH THANKSGIVING

To keep it short...our trip to Utah was relaxing and we all had a wonderful time.  Taylor wasn't put down once, her spoilers aka my mother and sister just couldn't get enough of her.  Reagan has never played so much, she spent pretty much every day with her cousins and went to bed each night completely exhausted.  Kevin was in heaven...he was able to go to two BYU games, Air Force and most importantly THE rivalry game with Utah.  They won both and I couldn't have had a happier fanatic!  I was able to spend a ton of time with my twiny, we hit up several boutiques and found some fun stuff.  My sis also took our family pictures and Reagan's five year old pics, she is super talented and so glad she was willing!  Overall it was just a wonderful trip and we loved spending time with our families and our friends!  We hope everyone is enjoying this time of year!

"THAT WAS TOTALLY WICKED"

I had this phrase in my head the entire month. We really have had a "totally wicked" month...First off the weather has been crazy one day it looked like this...

and the next it looked like this...

the last picture was taken from our first snow. We just got another big storm last week and by the end of it all we had a couple feet of snow in our backyard. Reagan just couldn't resist playing in the snow (the picture is a little blurry because I was taking it through the window, I was enjoying my nice warm house!)...

And then we had a three day Halloween marathon...It began on Thursday with some fun with Grandma Mary (Kedzie's grandmother) at the Halloween tea party, I only got one picture and it was horrible so sorry no pictures from that.
Then Thursday night was something that I have been anticipating for the past year...

that's right ladies and gents, WICKED...so amazing! We started the evening by going out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants The Cheesecake Factory, I think I could eat everything on that menu, so stinkin' good!! Then off to the theater! It's been awhile since I've seen a musical/play and Kevin I don't think has ever seen anything so it was a new experience for him. And to be honest I'm sure he wouldn't have picked Wicked as his first show but oh well! I would see that over and over if it didn't cost an arm and a leg, okay maybe just an arm, but still it was such a clever, entertaining show. So if it happens to come to your area try to see it even if you have to sell your children, I know we did, ha, though it was tempting!
Friday was some fun in the snow and then that night we had a tri-ward trunk-or-treat, but ended up being trick-or-treating inside the church, it was a little cold and I'm sure the activities committee didn't want a bunch of frozen children on their hands.
And then some more Halloween excitement with our wonderful friends on Saturday. We had dinner at our house and then all the kids got some more candy, because I know Reagan didn't have enough from the night before, we now have a very large bowl FULL of candy. My cute little girlies...Reagan was a little witch (thanks Liss) and Taylor was her black cat, doesn't Taylor look so happy?!?!?! Oh the joys!!

We've had an exciting month and we can't believe it's already the end of the year and we'll be putting out the Christmas stuff soon.

CATCHING UP

So I was just looking over my blog and realized that I am the world's worst blogger...my goodness several posts back it was Christmas of 08, YIKES! So anywho we have been alive and have been doing other things than just having a baby over here. Let's see...Craig and Sheri Denney were brave enough to take us boating with them about a month ago. I was a little hesitant to go only because Kevin wasn't going to be able to go with me but overall we had a fabulous time. Reagan even got to drive the boat, okay for about two seconds...
and I enjoyed some wake boarding myself,

HA!! Just kidding it looked more like this...

but I really did get up once we just couldn't get a picture of the very short moment. And might I add I did this only five weeks after having a baby, I know, I know!
And I finally finished Taylor's room...yes I know she's two and a half months old, but I really haven't had the energy...

We had some fun with friends at the second annual Urban Farm visit, thanks Em!
And last but not least I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fall like weather we've been having, though I just saw that it's suppose to snow here tomorrow, oh well...

So here is evidence that we have been doing other things and we're alive over here. We hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this time of year!

Taylor's Blessing

I can't believe our little baby is now two months old. We just got back from UT and had a very busy but fun time with our wonderful family and friends. It's always crazy when we go to UT especially on short trips like this past one. But we're so grateful to have so many loving friends and family there to support us and share in Taylor's special day. Taylor had her two month doctor's appointment on Tuesday and I was shocked at how big she is. She is now 9lbs7oz. 21inches long. She is finally on the charts in her percentiles. So we're so glad our cute little Taylor is doing so well and is growing and growing! Thanks Liss for this beautiful picture!

UPDATE

I just realized in my last post I mentioned that I would keep everyone posted, for shame I haven't.
So to update...
After being in the N.I.C.U. for only four days Taylor was discharged on Saturday the 25th. I didn't want to believe it at first, mostly because I was setting myself up for disappointment if something went wrong in the 24 hours before it was actually going to happen. To explain the shock of having her come home after only four days...When a baby is born so early they usually keep them in the N.I.C.U. for at least five days. They want to make sure they do not have problems with breathing, eating and some other things that preemies can have. But to everyone's amazement Taylor hasn't had a bump in the road since her early delivery, thus her only four day stay. Both of us are doing wonderfully! Taylor had her first doctors appointment the following Monday, everything went well. One of the many things that we have been very impressed with our insurance Kaiser, is that they send out a perinatal nurse after the baby comes home. We had our visit with the nurse and Taylor was back up to her birth weight, another amazement, most babies lose a lot more weight after birth, she only lost about 2 ounces. Since all the craziness of doctor and nurse visits we've been trying to adjust to life with a preemie (who doesn't seem like a preemie) and a four year old. Reagan is completely in love with her sister. The novelty has warn off a little since Taylor has been home for a little over two weeks, but overall Reagan has completely embraced having a new little one in our home. As far as my recovery/adjustment has been going it has been wonderful. I wasn't expecting to feel so great after delivering Taylor, maybe it had to do with the fact that I didn't push out a humongous baby, but I already feel back to "normal" whatever that means. The middle of the night feedings is still a little hard, in fact last night I completely feel asleep while Taylor was finishing up her bottle but I really didn't miss much. We are still in amazement at how this seemingly scary situation turned out so well. Again we are grateful to our Heavenly Father for the many blessings that have come. We are also grateful to all of our friends for helping and supporting us through this time!

Here are some more pictures from the past couple of weeks! Thank you Emily for some of these!

TAYLOR ELLA VEHAR

Our little Taylor just couldn't wait for August 31st. My water broke on July 16th at 11:00pm, six weeks early. After much stress and everything that comes with having a baby six weeks early I delivered her on the 21st at 8:37 in the morning. We are so grateful to our Heavenly Father for how well she is doing. She is a little spit fire and has been doing exceptionally well for a preemie. At this point we are not sure when we will be able to bring her home but she is greatly loved and being well taken care of at the N.I.C.U. (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) at Good Samaritan Hospital. We also wanted to express our appreciation to everyone who has been supporting us through this little bump in the road. We will definitely keep everyone posted about Taylor's progress. We send our love to everyone!!!

OUR SWEET BABY....GIRL

Little Miss Reagan was right all along! We are having a girl. And we already have her name...Taylor Ella. I am more than excited to have another girl for many reasons...we already have girl clothes...girls are way more fun to dress and all the fun accessories that come along with them...and honestly I was worried about what Reagan's reaction would have been if it was a boy. So needless to say we are all looking forward to her arrival, I think Kevin might be a little worried about ANOTHER girl but we already have the queen of sass, Reagan, to buffer things. So look out world another little Vehar girl is coming!

THE LATEST

Since I was sitting here on a Friday night watching Curious George with Reagan I thought I would do a quick post. Kevin has been wondering why I haven't posted anything new, maybe it has something to do with the fact that I've been really sick for the past oh three months and hence why there is nothing new to post. But as of late I've been feeling a lot better. A little more like myself each day which is nice. So I'm sure many of you have heard about Colorado's crazy 1 day blizzard, especially since most of you live in CO. Gratefully we've been enjoying a very mild, I would even say "warm" winter. But Kevin kept saying we were due for a storm and did we get some snow. Before the snow fall we were enjoying nice walks in the evening and Reagan and I in the afternoon spending some time out in the front yard. The first picture is our latest family portrait in thanks to Reagan's artistic skills. She even included baby Vehar! And the last picture is enjoying the snow, Reagan has been dying to go sledding and play in the snow. And that she did. Kevin spent some time on Thursday shoveling about a foot of snow off of our driveway and Reagan just had to go out with him. So we bundled her up and she got out her sand toys, hey it works for both, and made some snow castles. And today we went over to Westminster to do some sledding. I happily watched from the top and Reagan is a natural she absolutely had a blast. She is such a fearless child, she had no problem going down by herself, when some grown adults were a little hesitant. So that's what we've been up to lately, not a lot but life is good. We find out what this little baby is April 10th, which I can not wait! So I will for sure post when we find out. Hope everyone is doing well! Love to all!

ANNOUNCING BABY VEHAR #2

I am extremely pleased to announce that we are pregnant!!! It's about stinkin' time! I guess I can't complain too much, we have been trying for about a year and a half. Baby Vehar will make it's arrival August 31st. And as most of you know Reagan was a late baby so we'll see when this one wants to arrive. Reagan is so excited to be a big sister and she is also decided that we are having a girl. We've tried to explain everything to her but she is four and doesn't quite grasp that the baby is just a baby right now. Regardless she is so excited! We actually found out Christmas morning and I took two tests just to make sure. I not so happily started the "morning" sickness a couple of weeks ago, let me tell you SO MUCH FUN!! Okay not really but I'm just grateful to be pregnant. So we wanted to officially make this wonderful announcement and I'll post more on Baby Vehar in a couple of months!
